-- VPM Solutions has launched Roofing Fundamentals, a new training course available through VPM Academy designed to help virtual assistants build the industry-specific knowledge needed to support U.S. roofing companies. Developed in collaboration with Black BoxBusiness Solutions and narrated by its CEO, Chris Tigue, the course introduces essential roofing terminology, materials, and processes to help remote team members better understand the industry and contribute to everyday business operations.
Roofing companies rely on administrative support for customer communication, scheduling, estimates, project documentation, and coordination with suppliers and insurance providers. However, virtual assistants without roofing experience may struggle with unfamiliar terminology and workflows, making industry-specific training valuable.

Participants learn how roofing systems work, how contractors assess damage, and how estimates are developed. The course also explores common project challenges, such as unexpected damage discovered during tear-off, and how these situations affect documentation, change orders, and customer communication.
With this foundational knowledge, virtual assistants can more confidently assist with gathering estimate information, requesting supplier quotes, organizing insurance paperwork, tracking change orders, and communicating project updates. While the training does not qualify VAs to perform roofing work or make technical decisions, it helps prepare them to support the professionals responsible for those activities.
For roofing company owners and office managers, Roofing Fundamentals provides an additional onboarding resource that can reduce the need to explain routine terminology and processes. The course is also relevant to virtual assistants expanding into home services and property management teams that coordinate roofing vendors.
