After dedicating more than three decades to advocating on behalf of injured South Carolinians and building an esteemed statewide law practice, Atty. Ken Harrell, Managing Partner of Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers, has been named a 2026 SCBIZ Icon Honoree.
SCBIZ Icon Honors recognizes South Carolina leaders over the age of 60 for their notable professional success and strong leadership within and beyond their chosen fields. Honorees are selected by SCBIZ for the lasting impact they have made throughout their careers.
Harrell was recognized on-stage during the Icon Honors Awards Celebration on September 22nd, 2026, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Throughout his legal career, Harrell has established himself as a leader in the field, known for his fierce advocacy for injured workers. In addition to serving as Managing Partner of Joye Law Firm, he is a Past President of Injured Workers’ Advocates, where he continues to serve as the Co-chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee, a role he’s held for nearly two decades.
Harrell’s commitment to service extends well beyond his work at Joye Law Firm. He, alongside his wife, Jeannie, supports a number of non-profit organizations making meaningful impacts on the local community. Harrell currently serves as Development Chair for the Board of Reading Partners South Carolina, an organization focused on helping elementary school students build strong reading skills. He previously served as Chair of the Ashley Hall Board of Trustees and, co-chaired a fundraising campaign that became the first by a Lowcountry private school to raise more than $1 million in a single year. Harrell’s helped establish a scholarship at The Citadel in memory of Ken’s legal mentor, Richard Farrier, and led the creation of a College of Charleston scholarship honoring late friend and fellow attorney David Aylor.
The SCBIZ Icon honor adds to Harrell’s recent professional recognition. He was named among South Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s Managing Partners to Watch in both 2025 and 2026 and was selected by Best Lawyers as the Charleston Workers’ Compensation Law Lawyer of the Year for 2015 and 2026.
